Privacy Policy

Sugu Driving School (SDS) (“we”, “us”) is an Adelaide, South Australia driving school. This policy explains what personal information we collect through https://sugudrivingschool.com.au and our booking system, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

• Contact details — your name, email address and phone number, so we can confirm and remind you about lessons.
• Pick-up address — street address, suburb and postcode, because your instructor drives to you.
• Booking details — the lessons you book, dates and times, notes you add, and your booking history.
• Payment details — card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our server; we keep only the payment reference, amount and status.
• Account details — a student portal account is created for you when you book, with a password that is stored securely hashed.
• Messages — anything you send us through the contact form.

2. How we use it

• To take, confirm, reschedule and deliver your driving lessons.
• To send booking confirmations, reminders and status updates by email and SMS.
• To place your lesson in your instructor’s calendar so it is not double-booked.
• To process deposits and payments, and to keep the records the law requires.
• To respond to your enquiries.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party marketing.

3. Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run the booking system, and only the information they need:

• Stripe — card payment processing.
• Google Calendar — your lesson (name, time, pick-up address and contact details) is written into your instructor’s private calendar so the diary stays accurate. Google Places may also be used to suggest addresses as you type.
• Email and SMS providers — to deliver confirmations and reminders.
• Our web hosting provider, where the booking system runs.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

4. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in to the student portal and to protect forms against misuse. Your browser may also keep an unfinished booking so you can pick up where you left off. We do not use advertising cookies.

5. Keeping it safe

Data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and API credentials are held only on our server. Access to booking records is limited to the driving school.

6. Your rights

You can view and update your details at any time in the student portal. To request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have your account and data deleted, contact us at sugudrivings@gmail.com or on 0483 732 063. We keep booking and payment records for as long as Australian tax and business record-keeping rules require.

7. Changes and complaints

We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
