Terms of Service

These terms apply to every lesson booked with Sugu Driving School (SDS), whether through this website, by phone, or in person. By booking, you agree to them.

1. Bookings

• A booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit (or, for “pay on the day” bookings taken by the instructor, once the instructor confirms it).
• You will receive a confirmation email with a booking reference. Please check the date, time and pick-up address and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
• A repeat booking (the same lesson on several dates) is a series of individual lessons. Each has its own reference and can be moved or cancelled on its own under the rules below.
• Online bookings are subject to the instructor’s availability shown on the booking form. We may decline or reschedule a booking if a slot becomes unavailable; if so, any deposit paid is refunded in full or applied to a new time, as you prefer.

2. Deposit and payment

• A deposit of 30% of the lesson price secures your lesson time. For a repeat booking the deposit is taken for every lesson in the series in one payment.
• The remaining balance is payable to your instructor at the end of each lesson, unless you chose to pay in full when booking.
• Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

• Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or move a lesson. With 24 hours’ notice, your deposit is transferred to the new time or refunded.
• Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, and lessons where the student is not ready at the agreed pick-up point within 15 minutes of the start time (a “no-show”), forfeit the deposit.
• If your instructor has to cancel — for illness, vehicle fault or unsafe weather — we will offer a new time or a full refund of anything paid for that lesson.

4. On the day

• You must hold a current South Australian learner’s permit or driver’s licence (or a recognised overseas licence) and bring it to every lesson. Without it the lesson cannot go ahead and is treated as a late cancellation.
• Lessons are conducted in the instructor’s dual-control vehicle. You must be fit to drive: not affected by alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs driving, and wearing suitable footwear.
• The instructor may end a lesson early if continuing would be unsafe; no refund is due in that case.
• Lesson time starts at the booked time at the pick-up address. Time lost because the student is late is not made up.

5. VORT and assessment packages

Where a package includes a Vehicle On Road Test or regulator assessment, the test itself is conducted by the authorised examiner and its outcome is not guaranteed by us. Test fees payable to third parties, if any, are as stated on the service description at the time of booking.

6. Student portal

A portal account is created for you when you book. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for the accuracy of the details in your profile. We may close accounts that are misused.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to a lesson is limited to re-supplying the lesson or refunding what you paid for it.
